coincidence?

so right after i posted "for the fellas", i received the oddest compliment from one of my co-workers. he hadent seen me for a while and when i said hi to him on skype he told me that i looked like the beautiful siren "lorelei" from the Rhein river. i had no idea what he was talking about but was struck with wonder since i am a Rheinlander! i googled the tale and found this:

In the best known invention of the legend, Clemens Brentano's (1801), Lorelei falls in love with the Count of Katzenelnbogen, who marries a girl of noble birth, and Lorelei throws herself off the rock in despair, and thus kills herself. She then becomes a siren. Afterwards she takes her revenge by drowning any men foolish enough to come along the river by her beauty and song, which is related to the murmuring echo among the steep cliffs in the area.
 

The 132 m high Lorelei Rock sits across the Rhein from Sankt Goarshausen and soars some 120 metres above the water line. After leaving Switzerland, the Rhein is at its narrowest and swiftest here. A very strong current and rocks below the waterline have caused many boat accidents. So the stretch was considered dangerous for ships until modern times. On this rock is a huge, erotic Lorelei statue.

after he explained to me that i was like her, he also mentioned that i have a terrible voice, and hes never even heard me sing! so it was like a compliment and an insult at the same time. eh, either way I HELLA DUG IT.
